Milan to Monaco — September on the Riviera

There is something irresistible about the Riviera in September.

The light softens, summer lingers just a little longer, and Monaco becomes the meeting point for beautiful yachts, elegant dinners and people arriving from everywhere — especially during the Monaco Yacht Show, returning to Port Hercule from 23 to 26 September.

For an Italian woman, the journey from Milan to Monaco feels almost effortless. A few days away. A beautiful hotel. Champagne somewhere overlooking the Mediterranean. Dinner that lasts longer than planned.

I have my little Monaco rituals. A Mediterranean dinner at GAIA, a late night at Sass’ when the mood calls for it, and, of course, the timeless pleasure of Le Louis XV by Alain Ducasse. For something more relaxed and unmistakably Italian, Giacomo by the sea always feels a little like home.

These are the details I love about travelling: discovering a city through beautiful tables, familiar rituals and places worth returning to.

And perhaps, the special company.

Based in Milan and available internationally, I have always preferred travel when it feels personal rather than scheduled. An invitation, a destination and enough time to actually enjoy both.

So if Monaco — or somewhere along the Riviera — is calling this September, perhaps you don’t have to arrive alone.
